Student Accessibility Network
Western Avenue, CF5 2YB, Cardiff
Looking to meet new people, share your experiences, or help make Cardiff Met a more accessible and inclusive place? You've come to the right place!
The Cardiff Met Accessibility Network is a welcoming, student-led community where disabled and neurodiverse students can come together, make connections, discuss accessibility, and help shape positive change across the university.
Who can join?
Everyone who feels this community is for them is welcome!
Under the Equality Act 2010, disability includes physical or mental impairments that have a substantial and long-term adverse effect on everyday activities. This can include physical and sensory disabilities, some forms of neurodivergence, chronic health conditions, and mental health conditions.
But you don't need a formal diagnosis or have to identify as disabled to come along! Whether you're disabled, neurodivergent, exploring your identity, or simply feel connected to this community, we'd love to see you.
What can you expect?
Our meetings are a chance to:
• Connect & Make Friends – Meet other students, share experiences, and find your community.
• Have Your Say – Talk about accessibility at Cardiff Met, celebrate what's working, and raise any challenges you've encountered.
• Share Ideas & Create Change – Suggest improvements and help shape a more accessible university experience.
• Discover Support & Resources – Learn more about the accessibility services, adjustments, and opportunities available at Cardiff Met.
• Help Shape the Network – Bring your ideas for future meetings, activities, and events. This is your space, and we want you to help make it your own!
Led by your Disabled and Neurodiverse Students' Officer, with support from the SU Voice and Advocacy Team, this network is all about bringing students together and making sure their voices are heard.
Whether you're passionate about accessibility, looking to meet new people, or just curious about what we're doing, come along and say hello!
There's no pressure to speak or share anything personal. You're more than welcome to just listen, hang out, and see what we're all about.
